Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Bookd ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. Bookd is operated by Bookd Inc. ("we", "us", "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bookd. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. How Bookd Works

Bookd is a marketplace connecting customers with local service providers. Providers list their services, customers browse and initiate conversations, and providers send booking offers through in-app chat. Bookd facilitates the transaction but is not a party to the service agreement between customer and provider.

5. Payments & Fees

All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). By booking a service, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method. Providers receive payouts minus applicable platform fees. Refund eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis — see our dispute process for details.

6. Provider Obligations

Providers must deliver services as described in their listings and accepted offers. Providers are independent contractors, not employees of Bookd. Providers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, licenses, and insurance requirements for their services.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Arrange payments outside of Bookd to circumvent platform fees
• Share personal contact information to conduct business off-platform
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or reviews
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Platform

8. Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you post (photos, descriptions, reviews). By posting, you grant Bookd a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute that content on the Platform. Bookd's brand, logo, and platform design are our intellectual property.

9. Disputes Between Users

Bookd may facilitate dispute resolution between customers and providers but is not obligated to do so. We are not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided. Any claims arising from a service are between the customer and provider.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees you have paid to Bookd in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Bookd after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
